The user interface is just great. Bidding is somewhat flawed, with few customizations available, and card play is pretty good yet still lacking in defence. Overall, the best bridge program around...

almost perfect

Great portable bridge game. A bit expensive but worth it. Please add the ability to go back one deal when you accidentally skip!

Bidding OK, Defense bad, needs update

I’ve had Bridge Baron on my iPhones and iPads for several years now, and generally like it, but would really like to see better support for more advanced bidding, and the defense is pretty bad. I would rate it as a mediocre “C” level player. I play a lot of duplicate bridge in club games and tournaments, and several of the conventions I find essential aren’t supported by Bridge Baron, notably Kokish game tries, XYZ, and Kickback keycard asking bids. On the defensive side, partner’s opening leads seem to ignore my bid suits, lead directing doubles, and Lightner doubles. I have UDCA (Upside Down Count and Attitude) in my preferences, but have to play a high card as attitude to get partner to lead the suit.

Good but could be a lot better

Ive been using this program for at least 5 years and believe its one of the better options. However, it has a couple of quirks that need to be addressed. First, the bid suggested by using the hint option is not consistent. It seems that the program "knows" the cards held by partner and opponents and the hint suggestion reflects this knowledge. For example, on some hands with a 6-card major and 10 points, the hint says to open with a bid of one and other times with a weak bid of two. There are other numerous occasions of this inconsistency which I find to be very frustrating. Secondly, as mentioned by other reviewers, the bidding by partner can be erratic and inconsistent. The program has not been updated since October 2013, over 27 months. The developers need to address the issues raised by reviewers over the last 2 years.

Frustrating

Ive played various versions of this app. The current one is o.k. I definitely do not like the computer playing my partners hand. Sometimes the card selected by the computer is completely wrong and can cause a game loss.

Frustrating

Have you ever had a conversation with someone who is always right. Welcome to BB. Any comments or suggestions to improve the program are a waste of time. Buyers simply need to put ego aside. You cannot win and you will learn very little. BB is programmed to win - period, this includes all aspects of the game, including you computer partner.

Many deals but poor user interface/experience

There are no many decent bridge app on the market. This happens to be one of them. A great amount of deals offer plenty opportunities to practice, review and study. However, this app has fairly poor user interface. The two critical user issues havent been addressed for a long time: first, "show all" button allows double dummy play during live games even if it is turned off in Setting. Guess how much fun you would have if opponents see your cards?! Second, it allows player to join or leave the deal in the middle of playing. Many players left after poor bidding or terrible play and the staying partner takes the point hit. I havent seen any upgrade to this app for a while. For anyone who paid almost $20 to get the app, dont we expect a piece of art? A serious bridge player sincerely wishes a change here!

Very problematic

I purchased this app plus every single lesson available. It worked fine for a while but now it does not work at all. I never was able to change my password and always got a weird screen which indicated there was some problem "loading data." I paid several hundred dollars for these add ons. I would suggest no one buy these until they fix these problems.

Crapola

Cant access online play. Customer service wont respond. AI bidding makes no sense. $20 is a lot to spend for an app that isnt supported. Developers should be ashamed of themselves.

Bridge

I really like the feature of playing and bidding the same hand. It is helping to see other bed options. I do not like that the bidding is not what our bridge group uses. We only bid majors if we have 5.

Great bridge

Great bridge game. Good graphics. Easy to follow. Worth the money

Leads when in Duplicate Mode

First I want to say that I have used Bridge Baron for many years and have found it fun and challenging; however, until recently I have only played it against two computer opponents and a computer partner. Now with the Ipad version I use it to play with a human partner against two computer opponents, always using the duplicate mode to get a better idea of how well the hand was bid and played. I have found this comparison to be not as helpful as it could be when the human side has won the bid. Even when all options are set identically and hands are bid identically, I almost always find the computers opening lead different in the playback Duplicate mode than the one where it is played against humans. This difference makes comparing play less than ideal and needs to be addressed. Still this couple system that my wife and I now play is something I have dreamed of doing for decades, ever since the very first bridge programs were developed. I will continue to be an enthusiast for BridgeBaron.

Great program

Best of any bridge games!

Good program, poor support

Great program for learner. Helpful to see the bidding interpretation. The "my deals" part does not work. Sent message to tech support but no action to fix it so far.
